About Us

Nestled on the hills of Gympie’s eastern (SE Queensland Australia) side is Glen Eirinn Arabians, a blossoming stud dedicated to breeding world class Straight Egyptians where refinement, strength, awe inspiring movement and unimaginable beauty is captured within the living legends of the desert. This is the beginning of a legacy.
These beautiful fairytale horses graze contentedly in their paddocks where bloodlines run deep with the rich blood of the crème de la crème of their breed.
Their story goes back centuries for they are the pure descendents of the original desert horse, their blood uncontaminated, their beauty unfathomable, their intelligence unquestionable and their love endless. A creature that could only have been formed in the mind and heart of God, carved by his own hands out of the desert wind. This is the Straight Egyptian Arabian.

Glen Eirinn Arabian Stud was formed by Ellie Garvey who, like many other girls, spent her childhood years dreaming about fairytale horses.  Then, in her teenage years, this girl was determined to transform her dream into reality.  At the age of 16, she commenced full time study at the University of Queensland, one of Australia’s most prestigious Universities and one of the Top 100 universities of the world, studying a QCA and graduating with distinction. She then articulated into Applied Science, majoring in Equine Studies and receiving the Dean’s Commendation for high achievement in her final semester and placing in the top 16% of her faculty. After graduation, she continued to upgrade her degree in Equine Management and moved steadily towards developing her ultimate dream of working with beautiful Arabian horses.

During her first year at University, Ellie visited Chaswyck Stud and encountered the Australian Reserve Champion Stallion in halter and Reserve Champion Saddle horse of the year, Simeon Sochain. It was at that moment, when his owner led him out of the stable, that she knew the type of horse she wanted to breed. Her first thought, when she saw Simeon Sochain, was I want to ride him. She marveled at his incredible topline, well laid back shoulders, short cannon bones, large strong knee joints, clean throatlatch and hindquarters that screamed out as being as powerful as Turbo charged Jets. She sensed that Simeon Sochain was an incredible riding horse, adorned with beauty and majesty that kings and queens would envy.

Only a couple of years after this meeting, Lorraine and Ronald Bond, the owners of Chaswyck Stud, announced that they were retiring after thirty years of focused and successful breeding.  Once again, Ellie visited and this time returned home with her foundation mare, Chaswyck Ophelia (Simeon Sochain x GR Madarah imp Ger/exp UAE). Later, Ophelia was followed by the mares Chaswyck Nile Queen, Joda Alana and Seraphina of Chaswyck (see Mares page). Then, in an extraordinary unfolding of events, when mares could not travel because of their late stage of gestation, there followed three foals by Baarafic out of mares which were later sold to the Arab Emirates, after being put back into foal by Baarafic. These three foals joined the other Chaswyck horses at Glen Eirinn Stud and have developed into the spectacular stallions, Chaswyck Ibn Al Riyah and Chaswyck Inheritance together with the beautiful, breath-taking filly, Chaswyck Angelikova.
Consequently, the horses of Glen Eirinn Arabian Stud are as beautiful as they are versatile.  Their pedigrees are lined with National, International and World Champions in halter and they have regional, State, National and International winners within many competitive fields including, Dressage, Reining, English Pleasure, Harness, Working Cow horse, Western Pleasure and Liberty.
Thus, the future for Glen Eirinn is set to be an amazing adventure.

Ellie looks forward to sharing these enchanting creatures with the world and she hopes they give the same contentment and happiness to others that they give to her. She wishes to thank everyone who has made this website possible, especially Tony Vetter for opening the doors of website design to her, Catherine Findlay (I.T and Multimedia student of Griffith University) for image consultancy and technical advice, the wonderful photographers Diana Cantey, Jennifer Ogden and Danna Russo Lingard together with Lorraine and Ronald Bond from Chaswyck Stud, who have not only become wonderful mentors but also dear and cherished friends, sharing images and information and being a continual source of support. Ellie also wishes to thank her mother for her continual support and belief in her ambitions and dreams, together with her Irish born father, Simon Garvey, who passed away while she was in her first year of University. He instilled in her a passionate love of horses and no doubt watches over her from heaven, still making all these wonderful dreams possible.
Ellie’s message to her fellow travelers is: “Follow your dreams and remember that ‘your life is your message to the world so make sure it is an inspirational one’. She says that this is one of the many lessons, which horses have taught her and she hopes that you too will find inspiration for ‘happiness is a way of travel’ rather than a destination.
